As a Michigander, finding an outfit for date night is a never ending battle of layering and fur jackets. There is an art to creating a warm look that doesn’t involve you looking like an Eskimo. Whether you are going to a museum, out to eat, or just catching a movie, I have the outfit inspiration and style tips for you below! Love, Claire.
- Starting with the classic jeans and t-shirt look. What is more perfect than a tee that says “babe” when you are out with your babe? Nothing. Get it from Wet Seal. I knotted the shirt for some flare and wore a black fitted blazer from WHBM over it. Lastly, I wore a pair of black Tory Burch Booties. I recommend wearing boots or booties for all of your winter date night outfits! I wore a black fur coat over the entire outfit and wore one simple Hermes bracelet with the outfit.
2. This outfit is perfect for almost any occasion. It is elegant yet simplified. Due to the nature of the loose maxi skirt, it can also easily be layered with leggings or ever skinny jeans underneath for extremely cold days. The turtleneck sweater is a warmer option than a typical cotton shirt. I choose a top that had an eyelet designed color because small details make the item pop. I am wearing Frye suede booties with the outfit and a vintage needle point cross body bag.
3. This style is the most flirty. In winter, burgundy can be a great trade-off for the typical sexy bright red. I paired a BCBG burgundy skirt that has gold woven throughout with an Express black ruffle front shirt. I put a burgundy blazer over the top and added black thigh high boots. As usual, feel free to layer tights underneath for more warmth or a camisole under the shirt.
